Dental VENEERS

Transform Your Smile with Confidence

If you're looking to enhance your smile, veneers are a great option. These custom-made laminates, crafted from tooth-colored ceramic or composite material, can cover the front surface of your teeth to address issues like discoloration, chips, cracks, and misalignment. Veneers are durable and long-lasting with proper care, and can be customized to match your preferred shade. They are effective for correcting gaps or misalignments, giving you a more even and symmetrical smile.

Types of Veneers

At Village Family Dentistry of Farmington Hills, we offer a variety of veneer options to meet your individual needs. Our experienced team can guide you in choosing the best veneer type for your smile. We provide porcelain ceramic veneers, composite veneers, and low-prep veneers.

Ceramic veneers are the most popular choice due to their durability and longevity, lasting 8-10 years or more with proper care. They are highly resistant to staining and discoloration, ideal for maintaining a bright, white smile. The process for ceramic veneers typically involves two visits: the first for preparation and digital scanning, with temporary veneers provided while your custom ceramic veneers are created in the dental lab. During your second visit, we will adhere the ceramic veneers to your teeth, giving you the smile you’ve always wanted.

Composite resin veneers are a suitable option for quick and minor cosmetic fixes. They can be placed in a single visit and offer a more budget-friendly alternative to ceramic veneers, with a lifespan of up to 5-8 years with proper care.

For those who may be candidates, low-prep ceramic veneers require minimal alteration or removal of tooth structure. Consult with your Village Family Dentistry dentist to see if this option is right for you.

At Village Family Dentistry, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care. Our skilled and compassionate team is here to help you determine the best veneer option to achieve your healthiest and happiest smile. Porcelain Veneer Process

At Village Family Dentistry of Farmington Hills, we’ve helped countless patients achieve their dream smiles with our expertise in placing veneers. By blending science, experience, skill, and artistry, we ensure each case reaches perfection. We begin with the final result in mind, crafting stunning, radiant smiles tailored just for you!

Check out our step-by-step process below.

Step 1: The Consultation

The journey to your new smile begins with a consultation at Village Family Dentistry of Farmington Hills. During this visit, we’ll take digital images of your teeth and smile, discuss your goals, and explore various options. We’ll show you examples of stunning smiles to help you identify what you like and provide guidance on what will best suit your facial features. You’ll also see examples of our previous cosmetic work.
Our team will listen to your desires and develop a customized treatment plan, whether you need just a couple of veneers or a full-mouth restoration. By the end of this appointment, our dentists will craft a personalized plan designed to achieve and even exceed your smile expectations!

Step 2: Your Blueprint

Once your cosmetic plan is finalized, we’ll take impressions of your mouth and teeth. These impressions, along with detailed instructions, are sent to a Master Ceramist. We collaborate with top ceramists across the country, choosing the best fit for your specific needs. Throughout this process, we maintain clear communication to ensure your desired results.

The ceramist will use your impressions to create a wax-up model that simulates the appearance of your veneers. This "wax-up" blueprint ensures that your restorations will function correctly and comfortably. At Village Family Dentistry, we prioritize both the aesthetic and functional aspects of your smile.

Step 3: The Preparation Appointment & Your Temporaries

Following the wax-up, we proceed with the preparation appointment. Our cosmetic dentists will conservatively contour your teeth based on the wax-up model. We’ll numb your teeth and create models for the final veneers.

You’ll wear temporary veneers for about three weeks, allowing time for any necessary adjustments. This phase gives you a chance to test the fit and make modifications, ensuring your permanent veneers will be perfect.

Step 4: The Final Appointment

The final step is the bonding and placement of your porcelain veneers. After wearing the temporaries and making any needed adjustments, we’ll remove the temporaries and place your finished porcelain veneers. We’ll ensure they are flawless and that you’re thrilled with the results.

The veneers are then permanently bonded, and we’ll adjust your bite to ensure natural movement. If necessary, we’ll take impressions for a protective night guard. With this final step, the process is complete, and you’ll enjoy your beautiful new smile.

Dental VENEERS FAQs

What are the benefits of veneers?

Veneers can improve the color, shape, and size of teeth, as well as correct chips, cracks, and gaps.

How long do veneers last?

Veneers can last 8-10 years or more with proper care and maintenance.

Are veneers painful?

The procedure is minimally invasive and may require local anesthetic to provide comfort during the procedure. Little to no discomfort is expected after the procedure.

Are veneers painful?

The answer to whether you’ll experience pain with veneers is no, yes, and maybe—it depends on how much of the tooth is reduced. Traditional methods that involve significant tooth reduction can lead to considerable discomfort.

Can I whiten my veneers?

One of the major advantages of porcelain veneers is their ability to deliver a stunning, white smile. Like fine china, porcelain is highly durable and does not fade or wear over time.

While veneers can be polished, they cannot be whitened. If your veneers appear discolored, it’s likely due to changes in the tooth underneath or discoloration between the veneer and the tooth. If you’re concerned about maintaining the whiteness of your smile, please reach out to us. We’ll explore various treatment options to address your concerns.
